Construction
ORALITE
®
Helmet
Stickers
are composed of cube corner (micro-prism) reflective elements integrally bonded to a flexible, glossy,
tough, and weather resistant UV stabilized polymeric film. The micro-prismatic sheeting is
RF welded to a thin polymeric backing
coated
with an aggressiv
e pressure sensitive adhesive. This adhesive is designed for application to helmets and is protected by a
coated paper release liner.
Reflectivity
ORALITE

have a typical retroreflector performance
value of 600 cd/lux/m² when measured in
accordance with
NFPA 1971, 2013 edition. The patches exceed rainfall and convective heat exposure requirements.
Color
Available in fluorescent yellow green,
offering both superior daytime
visibility through 100% fluorescence, as well as outstanding
nighttime visibility through reflected color similar to that of its daytime appearance.
NFPA 1971, 2013 edition requires a minimum of four square inches of retro-reflective and fluorescent trim be visible above the
reference plane of the helmet.
Resistance to Chemical Exposure

offer resistance to a variety of chemicals potentially encountered in firefighting situations, and are able
to withstand a 10 minute immersion in 5% HCl, heptane, MeOH, NaOH, gasoline, kerosene, and
mineral oil without evidence of
blistering or dissolving.
Cleaning
ORALITE
®
Helmet
Stickers
feature a glossy top surface which is inherently resistant to soiling and allows for easy cleaning. Dirt,
soot and smoke stains may be readily cleaned using non
-abrasive soap and water, thus restoring significant reflectivity and
fluorescence to the product. The micro-prism reflective elements are behind the top surface and will not be affected by cleaning,
abrasion or wet conditions.
