    Staffordshire ABC Child’s Plate with Girls and Dog, 7 inch diameter, marked on bottom “Edge-Malkin & Co.”, Stoke on Trent pottery, late 1800’s, chip to rim at “L”, inner rim wear to the glaze, crazing with discoloration to the back to the upper left of the chip, age stain to the chip area, glaze crazing along the upper edges of the back, smaller chip to the rim at “V”, transfer print of two girls standing on a bridge with a dog waiting for them at the right side, a tree overhangs the scene, there is primitive hand painted highlights on the print on the tree trunk, tree fruit, bridge sides, and lower arc, embossed ABC’s in the border of the dish rim, slightly sunken interior for keeping food in the dish, wear between the rim and depression is from a utensil constantly rubbing against it, nice antique child’s plate.
